Congratulations to Oakwood's Board of Trustees President, Eileen Van Houten, who received theÂ Seymour Preston AwardÂ yesterday at the 45th Annual CASE-NAIS Independent Schools Conference in New Orleans.
The Seymour Preston Award honors trustees for providing exceptional leadership to an institution. Eileen has served on the Board of Trustees at The Oakwood School for seven years and twice as Board President.Â Â
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE),Â one of the world's largest nonprofit educational associations,Â servesÂ more than 3,600 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and nonprofit organizations in 77 countries.Â The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) is a nonprofit membership association that provides services to more than 1,700 schools and associations of schools in the United States and abroad, including 1,400 independent private K-12 schools in the U.S.Â
