We will not be announcing the title of the 2018 production until after auditions, but, be assured, this year’s musical will be full of awesome dance numbers, great featured roles for students of all experience levels, and opportunities for really fun costumes and sets. For those who have never performed before, this production will be a good chance to get your feet wet. For those who are old pros, this production will be challenging and give you a chance to improve your skills.
Two important changes to note:
This year the musical will be a STRICTLY UPPER SCHOOL (grades 8-12) production. We do hope to include 6th and 7th graders in our backstage, construction and stage management crews.
This year, students who want to participate in BASKETBALL or SWIMMING in addition to the musical will be able to fit both one of those sports and the play into their schedules. Students participating in both will have busy schedules, especially in the case of the teams making the playoffs, so this should be considered before making a commitment.
If you have any questions, unrelated to casting or the title of the play, feel free to reach out to Ms. Kepner: firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a tentative schedule and may be subject to changes:

2-5: Maria, Children, Mother Abbess, Margaretta, Berthe, Sophia, O. S, K. K. & E. O.

So the scene breakdown that was passed out on the first day of rehearsal was missing a scene, 1.9B. If this effects you, please print out the updated one, or write in the information.
Hope everyone is enjoying their fall break, despite the weather. Thanks for being patient while we hammered out this schedule!
Here is the schedule for the next two Sundays. The only thing to note is that a few TBA nuns will be included in How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria. You will be contacted if you are in this number, hopefully on Wednesday.
There may also be a choreography rehearsal on the 23rd, so dancers should keep their eyes peeled for that.
Let me know if you have any questions!

What a great first rehearsal! This rainbow greeted me and Mrs. Scully on the way out of Monk, which I think is a great omen.
We played some warm-up games, talked about expectations and did a read-through. It was great to hear everyone start to make some choices about their characters. Below is the handout from today. Please take some time to read through the expectations even if you were at rehearsal today. Also, use the scene breakdown to help you divide up your script and keep track of the scenes you appear in. I saw that Helayna has used colored post-it flags to divide up her script, which is exactly what a lot of professional actors, directors and stage managers do, including myself!
Sadly, the news today noted the passing of Charmian Carr, who played Liesel in the 1963 film version. Check out this article if you want to read more about her and see some photos.
